1 Dinosaurs are probably used more than anything else to indoctrinate evolution into children’s minds. Many Christians for years have avoided discussing dinosaurs and some have even tried to claim that dinosaurs did not exist. These are ignorant people that don’t live in reality and do not study their bible. This lesson is aimed to give us all a common sense answers when questioned about dinosaurs.

2 Dinosaurs are probably used more than anything else to indoctrinate evolution into children’s minds. Many Christians for years have avoided discussing dinosaurs and some have even tried to claim that dinosaurs did not exist. These are ignorant people that don’t live in reality and do not study their bible. This lesson is aimed to give us all a common sense answers when questioned about dinosaurs.

3 When did Dinosaurs live?
Land animals were created on Day 6. (Genesis 1:24) Man was created on Day 6. (Genesis 1:26) Therefore Man and Dinosaurs lived on the earth at the same time.

4 Were Dragon’s real creatures?
We all know about dragons and that they are supposedly mythical creatures, but is it possible that dragon’s are based off of stories of actual creatures, some sort of Dinosaur. We have legends of dragons in many, many different countries all sounding very similar and all could be dinosaurs. Do you think all these different people imagined the same kind of creature and created it from their imaginations or is it based on actual creatures that roamed the earth with mankind during the first couple of thousand years after creation?

6 Australian Dinosaur? Aborigines painting Plesiosaur rendering
In the far north of Queensland, Australia, Aborigines from the Kuku Yalanji tribe described and painted a sea and lake monster that looked surprisingly like a plesiosaur. Aborigines painting Plesiosaur rendering

7 Ishtar Gate in Babylon It was constructed in about 575 BC by order of King Nebuchadnezzar II. It has several bulls and lions on it and one other creature.

8 Ishtar Gate in Babylon That looks very much like a dragon on it. So we have two actual animals in bulls and lions and one supposed mythical creature in a dragon or is it possible that they based this on an actual creature as well? Doesn’t seem to make sense to place two real creatures and then make up a third creature.

9 Chinese Dragons

10 Chinese Calendar Chinese dragons, well-known throughout the world, even appear on China’s twelve-year calendar cycle. Eleven of these animals are common today (dog, rat, monkey, etc.), so why assume that the twelfth (a dragon) was mythological? An Ancient bookThe Travels of Marco Polo describes some of these long and lanky “serpents,” which included short legs and claws. He claimed the Chinese would use special methods to kill these dragons. Some of the dragons’ body parts were used for medicinal purposes, and others were eaten as a delicacy.

11 Tales of Herodotus, Egypt
Herodotus, an ancient Greek writer, records in The Histories, “There is a place in Arabia [modern Egypt], situated very near the city of Buto, to which I went, on hearing of some winged serpents; and when I arrived there, I saw bones and spines of serpents, in such quantities as it would be impossible to describe. The form of the serpent is like that of the water snake; but he has wings without feathers, and as like as possible to the wings of a bat.”

12 Ethiopian hunters Called the Nile Mosaic of Palestrina, it depicts Nile scenes from Egypt all the way to Ethiopia. Scholars now believe this is the work of Demetrius the Topographer, an artist from Alexandria who came to work in Rome. The top portion of this remarkable piece of art is generally believed to depict African animals being hunted by black-skinned warriors. These Ethiopians are pursuing what appears to be some type of dinosaur. The Greek Letters above the reptilian animal in question are: KROKODILOPARDALIS which is literally translated Crocodile-Leopard. The picture shown here is only a small portion of the massive mosaic. It also contains clear depictions of known animals, including Egyptian crocodiles and hippos.

13 Bishop Bell, England Bishop Bell, who died in 1496, is buried in the foundation of the famous Carlisle Cathedral. The ornate brass engravings around the grave show several animals, some of which appear to be dinosaurs, like a long-neck sauropod and a horned ceratopsian.

14 North Africa The Roman historian Cassius Dio recounted how a Roman army once killed a dragon. The original fragment from Book 11 of his Roman History, now lost, was repeated by John of Damascus (AD ~676–749), in his book On Dragons and Ghosts: “One day, when Regulus, a Roman consul, was fighting against Carthage, a dragon suddenly crept up and settled behind the wall of the Roman army. The Romans killed it by order of Regulus, skinned it and sent the hide to the Roman senate. When the dragon’s hide, as Dio says, was measured by order of the senate, it happened to be, amazingly, one hundred and twenty feet long, and the thickness was fitting to the length.”

15 Peru Peru is known for dragon and dinosaur-like creatures in their pottery and other artifacts. For example, the Museum of the Nation displays a dragon-like dinosaur on a piece of pottery attributed to the Moche culture (AD 400–1100).

16 Utah The picture above right (click to enlarge) was drawn by North American Anasazi Indians that lived in the area that has now become Utah approximately 150 B.C. – 1200 A.D. Looks very much like a Brontosaurus

So how would these people almost 1,000 years ago know what a Stegosaur looked like when we’ve only began studying dinosaur fossils in the last couple of hundred years?

33 Medieval Depiction, Spain
This is a medieval depiction showing the story of St. George slaying a dragon. Next to it is a modern drawing of what a Nothosaurus would have looked like.

34 Are there Dinosaurs in the Bible?
The answer is YES!

35 Behemoth Job 40: Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about. Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

36 Describing Behemoth What creature is being described?
What does the Behemoth eat? How is the strength of Behemoth described? How is his tail described? Where does Behemoth live? What is the main point of this passage? What creature is God describing to Job? Behemoth Grass like an Ox His strength is in his hips with powerful muscles. His bones are like bronze or iron, he can face a raging river, he cannot be snared. As large and as strong as a cedar tree In a swampy land with rivers and willow trees To show Job that God has absolute power. God created and can control this massive beast that man is in awe of. And that God has power over this beast and also of man. You have a lot of bible compromisers try to explain this passage in very weak ways.

37 Could it have been an elephant?
The bible describes cedar trees being used as the main beams in Solomon’s temple. And God describes Behemoth as having a tail as strong and powerful as a Cedar tree. Does the elephant look like it’s tail is as big and strong as a Cedar tree?

38 Could it have been a hippo?

39 Could it have been a Sauropod?

42 What is Leviathan? Job 41 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?

43 Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him
Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about. His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.

44 His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

45 Leviathan a crocodile? Descriptive terms Breathes fire and smoke comes from nostrils Laughs at spears To him Iron is as straw and brass as rotten wood He makes the sea boil like a pot
