2 Definition: Scatter Plot A scatter plot is a graph in which two sets of data are plotted (scattered around) as ordered pairs and compared in a coordinate plane. They are used to see if there is a relationship between the two sets of data.

3 A positive correlation occurs when as x increases, y increases. A negative correlation occurs when as x increases, y decreases. No correlation occurs when it appears that x and y are not related.
