6 Method of Instruction This course is taught in a seminar format within the principles of cultural immersion in the country of Guatemala. This course is taught in a seminar format within the principles of cultural immersion in the country of Guatemala. There will be a series of trips to experience the contextual reality of the locals and the differences in cultures between the U.S. and Guatemala. Students/participants will develop a series of workshops devised to empower local populations using the format of International Service Learning. All participants MUST participate in all the orientations pre-trip relative to rules, UNI standards of professional conduct, consumption of alcohol and illegal substance, cultural respect, and safety issues.
