1 TIA – ETSI workshop Conclusions March 22nd 2011

2 Objectives Harmonize the documents into a single set of documents (requirements, definition, architecture and protocol) –Both ETSI and TIA to maintain mirror documents based on the joint documents –Acknowledge that deviations may happen, to be documented in appendixes of the mirror documents Agree on a work split proposal for technical work evolutions (e.g. convergence layer, library for high level APIs, etc.) Timeframe: Q3 2011 (ETSI TC M2M target date) NB: Cooperation agreement in place allows for the proposed working methods/document management

3 Proposed approach A small team to analyze differences/gap analysis (initial proposal towards a way forward to merge the documents (Paul, Mark, Mitch, Enrico B, Omar, Barbara) First conference call (examine the proposal for Harmonization): Joint F2F meeting with decision making power TBC for ETSI, location TBD 2 nd and 3rd conference Timeframe April 27th 2011 10AM EDT May 11th 2011 June 7th 2011 June 23rd and 24th today

4 Additional notes/actions Proposal from Eric Barnhart (Georgia Tech) to support the harmonization and evolution of security work Both groups to distribute the documents Mailing list: joint mailing list (TIA), initially with the current attendees Omar to confirm the F2F meeting date and location. Conclusions need to be formally endorsed by ETSI TC M2M and TIA TR50
