You will have a question which asks you to consider a theme in relation to the whole of The Bloody Chamber and to compare the treatment of that theme to an extract from another gothic text provided for you. 30 marks [out of 60] for the whole paper You have 1hr45 for the whole paper- so about 45 mins to write this answer Marked for AOs 1,3,2,4 (with different weighting) Paper 2: The Bloody Chamber

Make sure you consider: How would you answer this question? How would you address the AOs? – What contextual information could you draw on? – What critical perspectives could you discuss? – What could you say about the language/form/structure? – How might the texts have been received? What might be the differences between the reception of TBC and an older gothic text? – Which quotations most aptly support your ideas and give you a lot to discuss?
