3 DNRC Funding Programs R ENEWABLE R ESOURCE G RANT AND L OAN P ROGRAM $125,000 Project Grants Planning Grants Project Loans Lewis and Clark Subdivision Water Main Installation O THER R ELEVANT DNRC F UNDING Private Grants Emergency Grants Reclamation and Development Grants

4 T HE R ENEWABLE R ESOURCE G RANT AND L OAN P ROGRAM Grants and Loans are Available for Projects that conserve, manage, develop, or preserve Montana’s Renewable Resources Up to $125,000 No match is required Eligible Applicants state, local and Tribal governments Such as: cities, towns, counties water and sewer districts, conservation districts, school districts, universities

5 Applications for RRGL project grants and loans are accepted by DNRC every other year. Applications are due May 16 th, 2016 before 5pm. If applying to other funding programs, you may submit a Uniform Application and the RRGL Supplement Apply on WebGrants fundingmt.org T HE R ENEWABLE R ESOURCE P ROJECT G RANTS AND L OANS

7 T HE R ENEWABLE R ESOURCE G RANT AND L OAN P ROGRAM Your project will be compared with other applications using the following criteria: Resource and Citizen Benefits (most important) How will the project Conserve, Manage, Develop or Preserve a Renewable Resource? Quantify estimated benefits. Technical Feasibility Financial Feasibility Financial Feasibility Environmental Impacts Project Management and Implementation

8 T HE R ENEWABLE R ESOURCE G RANT AND L OAN P ROGRAM Your project will be compared with other applications using the following criteria: Resource and Citizen Benefits (most important) Technical Feasibility Project description, alternatives assessment, cost estimate, schedule feasibility, supporting data Financial Feasibility Financial Feasibility Environmental Impacts Project Management and Implementation

9 T HE R ENEWABLE R ESOURCE G RANT AND L OAN P ROGRAM Your project will be compared with other applications using the following criteria: Resource and Citizen Benefits (most important) Technical Feasibility Financial Feasibility Financial Feasibility budget feasibility, affordability, proposed funding package Environmental Impacts Project Management and Implementation

14 O THER DNRC F UNDING P ROGRAMS Emergency Grants Up to $30,000 Must Be Unanticipated Must Be Urgent…Cannot Wait Must Be Eligible for RRGL Funding Must Demonstrate Financial Need Private Grants Up to $5,000 or 25% the cost of the project (whichever is less) Funds projects that conserve, manage, preserve or develop water resources Available only to nonpublic entities: individuals, associations

15 O THER DNRC F UNDING P ROGRAMS Reclamation & Development Grants $50,000 - $500,0000 Must reclaim natural resources damaged by resource extraction activities or hazardous materials Planning grant deadlines will be announced on the website Project grant applications due May 16, 2016
