2. Its Kind of a Funny Story is a realistic fiction novel. There are 444 pages. The story begin with the a young teen boy named Craig that Lives in New York and wants to get into this prestigious high school. Craig studies everyday for the entrance exam and ended up getting into the school. When he finally got into the school, he started having problems and was behind on his work. He became depressed, suicidal, and would throw up every time he ate. Craig eventually went to the hospital to go get some help and was hospitalized. While he was there he met many people and this girl named Noelle that helped him recover his health. SUMMARY

3. “I didn't want to wake up. I was having a much better time asleep. And that's really sad. It was almost like a reverse nightmare, like when you wake up from a nightmare you're so relieved. I woke up into a nightmare” (12). This is one of my favorite passages in this book because this is exactly what I go through. Almost all the time I use sleep to escape everything but when I wake up reality hits and I want to go back to sleep. I really enjoyed reading this book because many of the things the narrator expresses is what I feel. This quote is an example because I go through it almost everyday. FAVORITE PASSAGE

4. I would recommend this book because it’s an easy read but it also is a book that gives encouragement. It shows that even if you are at a really bad place you can always get help and get back to a better place. The book itself is really funny because the way the narrator expresses himself is really amusing. During Read-On I always found myself laughing at the way he would react to certain situations. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get a different outlook on psychiatrics. This book shows a good outlook on how getting mental help can help. Since the Junior class read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest this book shows the opposite. I was able to see both sides and I would recommend anyone to read this book. RECOMMENDATIONS
