4. 5 conditions of success 1.Common agenda 2.Shared measurement 3.Mutually reinforcing activities 4.Continuous communication 5.Backbone organization

5. 4 phases of development 1.Generate ideas—conversation, common ground (6 months) 2.Initiate action—using data, involving funders– (two years) 3.Organize for impact—backbone capacity (a decade) 4.Sustain action for impact—communicate results with stories and data

6. 3 preconditions 1.Influential champion passionate about the issue but willing to let others figure it out CEO level? 2.Adequate financial resources anchor funder minimum of 2-3 years 3.Urgency for change
