1 EPA’s Water Quality Exchange (WQX) Annual Exchange Network Users’ Meeting April 18-19, 2006

2 WQX – Water Quality Exchange WQX will: Facilitate water quality data exchange over the Exchange Network –Allow for data submittal via network nodes –Submittals will be validated and processed through EPA’s Central Data Exchange (CDX) Provide web services to access data in OW’s Central Warehouse (which will include all STORET and WQX data) Allow for enhanced data integration, access and visualization from a central data warehouse Utilize the ESAR (Environmental Sampling, Analysis and Results) data standard

7 Moving from Pilot to Production in 2006 The Pilot schema will be modified to comply with the final version of ESAR Draft WQX schema and updated Flow Configuration Document will be released in May ‘06 Final schema will be published in September ’06. No major structural changes are anticipated WQX will be ready to receive data in January ‘07
