Studies in Isaiah Thy Kingdom Come The Messiah King

“...for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.” - Isaiah 2:3 This Kingdom would have a new law, a new covenant, not like the old covenant that came from Sinai (Jer. 31:31ff)

The Kingdom: Isaiah 2:2-4 “Latter days” not later in Isaiah’s life. Daniel spoke of the kingdom (Dan. 2:28) coming in the “latter days” 150 years after Isaiah! “Jehovah’s house” = “the house of God” which is the church of God (1 Tim. 3:15). “all nations flow to it” = All are to enter the Lord’s church... “...ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem... 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven,” (Heb. 12:22, 23) “not learn war” = 11:6-9

The Messiah King: Isa. 4:2; 9:6 God was going to cut down the tree of David (He was going to put an end to the physical kings of Judah who were from the family of David the son of Jesse) They would go into Babylon! God would raise up a “branch”, “shoot, or “sprout (4:2) from the root of Jesse (11:1) which would rule over His spiritual kingdom (9:6, 7). Jesus was that “branch”!

The Kingdom in Acts 2 Exegesis V. 1 – Day of Pentecost V. 4 – Apostles empowered (1:5, 8) V. 16 – Peter: “This is that” = Joel 2:28, “afterward” same as “in the last days” (v. 17) V. 21 - “whosoever shall call” = “all nations” V. 24 – “at my right hand” = position of power v. 30 – “set one on his throne” = Jesus on the throne of David V. 33- “exalted” by the right hand of God = made King

The Kingdom in Acts 2 Have you entered the Kingdom of God? Is Christ the King of your life? Will You “eat bread in the kingdom of God” or offer excuses (Lk. 14:15-18) ? Will you submit to the King, Jesus Christ the Righteous? V.36, Will you BELIEVE? V.38, Will you REPENT? V.38, Will you BE BAPTIZED IN HIS NAME?
