4 Was God Shocked When the Jews Rejected Jesus?  Mark 8:31 “And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.”

5 Was God Shocked When the Jews Rejected Jesus?  Mark 12:8-10 "And they took him, and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard….Have you not even read this Scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected, This became the chief corner stone’” (Ps. 118:22)

9 Jesus Preached About the Kingdom Throughout His Ministry  Matt 4:17 = THE BEGINNING “From that time Jesus began to preach and say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”  Matt 26:29 = THE END “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom.”

10 Jesus Used The “Church” and “Kingdom” Interchangeable  Matt 16:18 = Church “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church.”  Matt 16:19 = Kingdom “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.”

11 The Church and Kingdom Have the Same Beginning Date  Mark 9:1 = Kingdom Will Come With Power “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”  Acts 1:8 = Apostles Would Receive Power. “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”

12 The Church and Kingdom Have the Same Beginning Date  Acts 2:4 = Apostles Received Power on Pentecost “They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.”  When Did the Church Begin?  The Same Day.

13 The Church and Kingdom Have the Same Beginning Location  The Church and Kingdom Began On the Same Day In JERUSALEM.  Acts 11:15 “And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as He did upon us at the beginning.”

14 The Church and Kingdom Were Both Purchased With Christ’s Blood  Rev. 5:9-10 = Kingdom Purchased “You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God.”  Acts 20:28 = Church Purchased “To shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”

15 If We Had Time  They Have the Same King and Law  Eph. 5:24 = The Church is Subject to Christ  1 Cor. 15:24 = The Kingdom is subject to Christ and His Rule.  They Have the Same Memorial  1 Cor. 1:2; 11:23ff = The Church Observed the Lord’s Supper.  Matt. 26:29 = Christ Partakes of the Supper in the Kingdom.

16 Still Not Convinced?  Col 1:13 “For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.”

17 The Key Question Is… Are You In the Kingdom? John 3:5 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
