Load balancing in ESS is more adequate: –Besides network enter check, the network can make such decision that force or suggest a STA belongs to heavy BSS to hand over to a lighter BSS to even the load. –An AP has more confederates to accomplish one task. –Solve the same problem with more sufficient resources. –Efficiency and control.

STA knows exactly the strength of signals in around. –Disadvantages: No communication and correspond among BSSs. The information STA can acquire is insufficient to make correct decision. Huge differences between STAs from different venders. Uncontrolled handover. Arbitrary, none guaranteed consequence, resource exhausting.

Sometimes, take load information as the exclusive factor in AP’s judge algorithm is not enough, maybe cause results just the opposite to what we wish. Maybe AP’s location or neighbor information can do a favor.
