5 Learning to Stand in Grace “Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, And hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit” Romans 5. 1-5 What does it mean “to stand in grace”? Is there a time when you’ve experienced “God’s love being poured into your heart”?

7 R efreshment ► Learn what refreshes people in your new culture ► Be fed daily by the Word ► Take a day off--sabbath

8 A cceptance ► Face reality—you’re in a different place! ► Find friendships ► Forego stereotypes ► Forgive others ► Find delights

9 C ompassion ► “God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” Romans 5. 5 The Daily Prayer of the Missionaries of Charity “Lord Jesus, when I meet you today in your unattractive disguise of the irritating, the exacting and the unreasonable, may I still recognize you and say, ‘Sweet Jesus, what a privilege it is to serve you today.’”
