2 Chapter 3 Lesson 1 Following God’s law leads to peace, love, and joy. Laws and rules make things better for us. God made a covenant, or agreement with Moses and the Israelites, that he would be their God and they would be his people. The 10 Commandments are the laws of God’s covenant.

3 Chapter 3 Lesson 1 Jesus calls us to conversion. Conversion is turning back to God with all your heart. The parable of the Prodigal Son. A parable is a short story with a message. What message do we learn from the Prodigal Son. Jesus calls us, his disciples, to continual conversion.

4 Assignment Imagine a new community was being established, and you have the power to enact laws. What would be your top five (5) laws to help the people of this new community live in peace and happiness? Secondly, how do these laws reflect the Ten Commandments?
