2 2 Cabling from sub-detectors Current thinking 31.03.2004V.Bobillier L. Roy Cable trays and/or cable ducts needs: Detectors have to define their needs when metallic cable ducts or other kind of trays than the standard one have to be installed for certain type of cables. The standard (or default) cable trays will be of both kinds: Cablofil Standard Cable tray The possible options are: Plastic cable ducts (for mechanical protection): Metallic cable ducts (for additional shielding effect):

Roy Packing factor for cable trays installation: Tests have been made to determine the packing factor to be applied and the bending radius problems in the chicane mock-up in the building 157. The most problematic region will be the 90 degrees angle in the chicane. http://lhcb-elec.web.cern.ch/lhcb-elec/Point8Electronics/CableTrays/Chicane/Cable_test.htm

Roy New iteration on the shielding wall chicane passage: The packing factor test gave the possibility to make a new iteration on the cable trays implementation in the chicane passage where no spare space is available for additional cables.
