3 Terms to Define… ► Growth: the process of growing and progressive development (measurable) ► Development: the act, process, or result of developing. A project that becomes accomplished in stages. developing

4 Basic Laws of Growth & Development ► A. Development is similar for everyone. ► B. Development is built on earlier learning. ► C. Development proceeds at an individual rate. ► D. The areas of development are interrelated and continual throughout life!

5 4 areas of Development ► Physical (head to toe) ► Intellectual (processing information) ► Emotional (feelings: happy, sad, angry, etc.) ► Social (interaction with others) PIESPIES
