BADGERS By: Hunter Reilly I think badgers are fantastic because sometimes they can take down a wolf. Many badgers can be aggressive when someone or something is attacking. Did you know that badgers can dig a deep hole in less than a minute?

What is a badger? A badger has dark brown fur, and or tan fur. It has a bushy tail that look like a beaver’s tail. They can weigh from to 4kg to 12kg. Their size can range from 3 feet and 9 meters long. Aren’t badgers amazing?

Where do badgers live? Badgers live in North American. They can be found in the Deciduous Forest Region. In the US, Badgers live in Burrows and can be found in the Upper part of Northern Michigan, deserts like in Arizona and Texas, and dens in Grasslands. That is where Badger’s live.

What eats badgers? Did you know that there are many animals that eat badgers? Eagles, hawks, and other birds of prey kill badgers and then eat them. Human kill badgers, too. All of the following animals also eat badgers- bobcats, cougars, coyotes, bears, and gray wolves.

What do badgers eat? Badgers eat many types of small animals. Mice and rats are a few of these little creatures. Badgers also eat pocket gophers, chipmunks and ground squirrels.

How are badgers adapted to their environment? In the winter they stay in their burrows. In the summer they dig a new den every day. So then if a animal finds there den they make a new one. So it can’t find the badger.

Interesting facts. When badgers are digging their dens If they find some ground bee they uncover it so then they don't get stung.
