2. Today we will be going to the library to select a Science Fiction Novel. 1.On most days, we will begin our class with silent reading of our Science Fiction novel. 2.You will have three weeks to complete the novel. 3.For the final assignment you will be required to create two assignments.

Assignment 1 Write a well structured essay in which you answer the following questions: 1.Within 10 sentences, provide a summary of the story. 2.Provide a description of the author: Name, literary works published, the inspiration of the story, why the author wrote the novel. 3. A strong discussion why the novel is considered Science Fiction. 4. What is the science or social commentary question that is being posed or challenged? 5. In your opinion, was the author successful or not in achieving the goals set out for this novel? Total points: 40 points

4. Assignment 2 You will be designing a NOVEL POSTER that will be displayed in the library. The purpose of the poster is to capture the attention of library visitors and inspire them to read the novel. 1.The poster must be at least A3 size. 2.The poster must include the title, author and a caption that will attract the attention of the visitors. 3.Include a brief description about the novel: No more than THREE sentences. It should be a teaser. 4.ONLY professional work will be accepted. 5.Total points for this assignment is 30 points.
