1. Homework Sharing For your homework each of you were given a Christian denomination to research. You are now going to share your findings with the class. You firstly need to sit with the people who have researched the same denomination as you, e.g. Methodists sit together, Quakers sit together. Share what you have found out – if you have heard something new, write it down!!! Each person is now going to be given a different colour card, this colour will indicate which new group you will now join. Each person is responsible for telling their new group about the denomination you have studied.

3. The Church in the Community Churches aren’t just places of prayer and worship. They are also important places for Christians to carry out work within their local community – this is an important part of being a Christian. In this lesson you are going to research into the work that local churches carry out within the community. You need to scan the QR code around the room to take you to their website and use the information to complete your sheet.

4. Church Community Programme You are a marketing consultant. A new church is being set up in Hedge End and they want to know what sort of community work the Hedge End community want and need. Your role is to: 1)Choose community events the church are going to run. 2)Create a short written advertisement to go in the local paper telling the community what events this new church will be running and how they will benefit people in the community.
