2. Objective The students will learn the importance of the Civil War for the United States, and be able to identify the important people and dates of the war. They will be able to recite the dates and names to me with 80% accuracy by the end of the week.

3. Monday What lead up to and caused the Civil War? Who was involved? When and where did it begin?

4. Tuesday Who were the major leaders for the North and the South? Major battles and their winner. Make a Venn Diagram of the North vs. the South

5. Wednesday FIELD TRIP DAY ! Huntington Civil War Museum.

6. Thursday Final location and winners of the last battles of the war. What ended the war? Civil war battle reenactment

7. Friday What happened to the United States after the Civil War ended? Who did it effect the most? What did it do to the economy?

8. Materials History Book Poster board for presentation Props for the Civil War reenactment Construction paper Pen

9. Evaluation The students will make a Venn Diagram of the North vs. the South. They will reenact a Civil War battle And at the end of the week they will present what they know to the class in groups by making a poster of what they have learned.
