Diabetes Care 2012;35:1252-1257 Death rates among both U.S. men and women with diabetes declined substantially between 1997 and 2006 Absolute difference between adults with and without diabetes has narrowed Encouraging findings, however, suggest that diabetes prevalence likely to rise in the future if diabetes incidence not curtailed
