2 In This Manner, Pray Matthew 6:9-13 Reverence for God. Desire for the Lord’s will to be done. Acknowledge our need for God. Ask for forgiveness. Pray for continual guidance. Praise and honor to God.

3 Persistence in Prayer Faith is having the confidence that God hears our prayers. Faith is also persistent in making requests known to God. –Luke 18:1-8: The widow and the unjust judge. –Luke 11:5-8: The Friend at Midnight. –Luke 11:9-10: Keep asking, seeking, knocking. 1 Thess. 5:17: Pray unceasingly.

6 Conclusion Prayer is to direct our hearts to God. Through it we acknowledge Him and rely on Him for all things. Life without prayer will never grow. A prayerful life cannot help but grow and draw closer to God. Let us, therefore, learn how we ought to pray.
