Ye shall be unto Me a KINGDOM OF PRIESTS AND AN HOLY NATION” Exodus 19:5-6; Deuteronomy 10:15; 14:2 "Israel was His dominion” Psalm 114:2 "The Lord your God your King” 1 Samuel 12:12

1. Out of Egypt Genesis 47:27 And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly. God called Israel out of Egypt. He constituted the people as His nation. Kingdom of God is now a literal Kingdom on earth, as tangible as any other nation - with its head, country, people, laws, religion, and even its history.

1. Out of Egypt 2. Israel Inherits The Land Of Promise Deuteronomy 27:3 And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee. The generation of Israelites that left Egypt proved faithless. For forty years they wandered in the wilderness under the leadership of Moses, until they all perished. Under Joshua, the succeeding generation passed over the river Jordan into the land.

1. Out of Egypt 2. Israel inherits the Promised Land 3. Theocratic Kingdom Exodus 20:2-3 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. God was king, and the priests were the officers of His realm. The symbol of God's presence was the Tabernacle where the people worshipped. "There will I meet with thee” - Exodus 25:22

1. Out of Egypt 2. Israel inherits the Promised Land 3. Theocratic Kingdom 4. Give us a King 1 Samuel 8:5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. Such a form of administration demanded the manifestation of faith. Genesis 8:21; Jeremiah 10:23; Romans 7:18 The absence of a visible king caused the disbelieving to forget God Generally the High Priests proved weak.

1. Out of Egypt 2. Israel inherits the Promised Land 3. Theocratic Kingdom 4. Give Us a King 5. Kings of Israel For a period of about 450 years, from the death of Joshua until Samuel the prophet. Israel's history is a record of alternating obedience to, and rebellion against, the Divine authority. Saul, David, Solomon and Rehoboam reigned as kings of the united Israel, after which the kingdom was divided. Though Israel constituted the Kingdom of God in the past, it was the Kingdom in a very imperfect state.

Discussion Questions Promise of the Kingdom How did the Kingdom of Israel differ from all the other Kingdoms? What are the attributes that God tried to instill in His people? End at 10:30am with a prayer. 1. Out of Egypt 2. Israel inherits the Promised Land 3. Theocratic Kingdom 4. Give Us a King 5. Kings of Israel
