6. "When I was a child, my father was forced to work as portier for the Burmese soldiers. He was shot dead when he tried to flee. I lived with my uncle and one day, Burmese soldiers came to punish us because we were growing rice outside the village. I escaped through the jungle and crossed the border. When I came to the camp, I went to the clinic for medical check up, and received food and a blanket. Now here in the camp, I hope to teach in one of the schools.“ – Maya, Burmese Refugee

Bring your peace to this world, a peace we cannot make ourselves. Awaken the consciousness of all peoples and their leaders, raise up those who can speak and act for peace, and show us new ways in which hatred can be left behind, wounds can be healed, and unity restored.
