3 09/22/20153 Client-side Products from Single Channels Promote client-side “on the fly” product generation when possible – Reduce bandwidth demand Fewer server generated products Products generated “as needed” (not continually downloaded) – Improves color resolution – Provides sampling (% color contribution) for multichannel products Exploit CI partnerships to convert direct readout polar data into products: – SPoRT RGBs – CIRA (DNB, Fire) – CIMSS (Fog/Stratus, Volcanic Ash, Cloud Products)? Improve forecast training for single channel or client-side multichannel products – Quick Guides for individual VIIRS channels (similar to GOES-R Quick Information Guides) – Many multichannel possibilities (ex: AVHRR - (Fog, NaturalColor, SnowCloud, Nighttime Microphysics, Diff 12um-11um) Support new product testing: – Provide Virtual Machines at GINA – Developer “Sandbox”
