10. By increasing the slip prices far above reasonable rates, Los Angeles County and the lessees have been denying public access in violation of the Coastal Act since early 2007.

11. 2007 – Boaters Upset Over 50-60% Slip Fee Increases Why were people forced out of boating?

August 2007 – Public Hearings Begin on Abnormal Slip Fee Increases in Marina del Rey After 3 months of testimony from numerous boaters, the County Harbor Commission finds that “the developers were stupid” to adjust the rates suddenly by 50% but that the fees were “within reason” in Marina del Rey.

17. In May 2008, the Coastal Commission is asked to intervene and provide some help with the newly adjusted slip fees.
