2.  The wheel- the oldest wheel discovered by archaeologists was found in Ancient Mesopotamia!

3.  Cuneiform- They invented written language!  The people in Mesopotamia valued education and record keeping. They started out with pictures for each word but their language evolved. Soon they had simple symbols.  They even wrote fiction!  The Legend of Gilgamesh is a story written in cuneiform.

4.  Super heroes! Gilgamesh was part god and part king. He had super powers and even fought an evil being to save the towns people!

5.  Irrigation- they devised a way to use the rivers to water their crops. They dug trenches off the river banks and flooded their fields.

6.  Board Games- the first board game was found at the city of Ur in Mesopotamia!
