2 Who we are? The Africa Evidence network (AEN) is a community of people who work in Africa and have an interest in evidence, its production and use in decision-making. The Network is supported by UJ-BCURE and includes researchers, practitioners and policy –makers from universities, NGOs and government.

3 History The Network was established in December 2012. Objective: To link people and activities across various initiatives, organizations and fields working to produce and use better evidence. 4 Progress on network activities [1] AEN membership has grown since December 2014 from 327 to 367. Membership sign up can be done on the website. Highlights South Africa: 173 members Malawi: 39 members United Kingdom: 32 members Other countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America.

5 Progress on network activities [2] Website: Traffic to the website is growing steadily. Most viewed content: Core capacity building resources, blogs, newsletters, members and network initiatives and more. Content downloads: 2 931 between January and April 2015.

6 Progress on network activities [3] Fifteen newsletters published (monthly since March 2014) Two blogs are published per month. The blogs have received positive feedback for example on social media.

7 Progress on network activities [4] AEN twitter account @Africa_evidence (433 followers) You Tube Channel: 6 videos published Linking with other networks (e.g. Effective Institutions Platform)

8 AEN Colloquiums Colloquium 2014 (November 2014, with 122 delegates) Colloquium presentations and report (on the AEN website) Planning on the 2016 Colloquium is underway.
