Table of Contents Meeting between an employer and an applicant to discuss the applicant’s qualifications for a job Prepare by: ▫Dressing professional ▫Arrive 15 min early ▫Using appropriate manners and body language. ▫Be knowledgeable about the company or organization and the job. ▫Know potential questions and practice answers to them. ▫Prepare questions to ask the interviewer. ▫NEVER USE PHONE OR TEXT WILL WAITING!!

Table of Contents Bring copies of the following documents to the interview: ▫Résumé ▫References ▫Any credentials, such as certificates, registrations, and licenses ▫Any diplomas ▫Vocational Portfolio

Table of Contents Shows the applicant’s courtesy and emphasizes the applicant’s qualifications. Includes these three paragraphs: 1.Thanks the employer for the interview. 2.Emphasizes why the applicant is the right person for the job. 3.Thanks the interviewer again.

Table of Contents If the employer offers the job to the applicant, the applicant must decide whether or not to accept the offer. If the job is not offered to the applicant, the applicant should not become discouraged. Instead, when people do not get a job, they should learn from the experience.

Table of Contents Their skills may increase, and they may desire a new job that offers a greater challenge. They may want higher pay or better benefits. They may want different work hours or another location. They may require less job stress. They may seek improved interpersonal relations with their superiors or co- workers.

Table of Contents Written record of intent to leave job. ▫Short, simple, and polite ▫Include the effective date of resignation May include a reason for the resignation only if the person is leaving the job under good conditions. A letter of resignation may include positive aspects of working for the employer 2 week notification is standard Don’t burn a bridge! You may need a reference from them eventually
