1 Pertemuan 16 The Business Owner’s View Matakuliah: A0194/Pengendalian Rekayasa Ulang Informasi Tahun: 2005 Versi: 1/5

2 Learning Outcomes Pada akhir pertemuan ini, diharapkan mahasiswa akan mampu : Menjelaskan the business owner’s view Menunjukkan kebutuhan kontrol pada the business owner’s view

3 Outline Materi Cross-Functional Data Classes The Enterprise Function of Sales

4 Cross-Functional Data Classes It turns out that we will need to identify a more generic enterprise business function that creates these cross-functional entities, although the roles that these entities can play can be isolated to a single business function.

5 Cross-Functional Data Classes For example, we have identified that marketing created the role of prospect, and it is likely that the procurement function creates the role of vendor.

6 Cross-Functional Data Classes However, both functions would need the ability to create a new person or organization if it did not already exist.

7 Cross-Functional Data Classes Therefore, classification theory tells us to pull it out as a separate function.

8 Cross-Functional Data Classes We can consider the global data classes that do not belong to a specific business function to be cross-functional reference data or master data for the enterprise.

9 Cross-Functional Data Classes In the architecture, the master data or master data and the processes that create master data form their own information systems.

10 Cross-Functional Data Classes We’ll name the global data class that contains the master entities person and organization the Organizations global data class.

11 Cross-Functional Data Classes This new global data class, along with primitive function that create the master entities organization and person, make up an information system that we’ll call the organization master information system.

12 Cross-Functional Data Classes We’ll call the enterprise business function that creates this master data “organizations master data management”.

13 Cross-Functional Data Classes There will likely also be a few more master information systems as the rest of the architecture is fleshed out such as potentially a “places master information system”.

14 The Enterprise Function of Sales Step one: Identify entities created by the enterprise business function Step two: Resolve Groupings Step Three: Identify Primitive functions for each entity.

15 The End
