ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF PLASTICS MADE BY-YASH, SANYAM, SAMRIDHI, ASHISH

ADVANTAGES OF PLASTICS ADVANTAGES OF PLASTIC ARE LIGHT IN WEIGHT. THEY CAN BE EASILY MOULDED AND HAVE EXCELLENT FINISHING. THEY POSSESS VERY GOOD STRENGTH AND TOUGHNESS. THEY POSSESS GOOD SHOCK ABSORPTION CAPACITY. ADVANTAGES OF PLASTIC ARE CORROSION RESISTANT AND CHEMICALLY INERT. THEY HAVE LOW THERMAL EXPANSION OF CO-EFFICIENT AND POSSESS GOOD THERMAL AND ELECTRICAL INSULATING PROPERTY.

DISADVANTAGES OF PLASTICS 1. PLASTICS CONTAIN MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF CHEMICALS, DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF PLASTICS AS SOME OF THE CHEMICALS USED IN PLASTIC PRODUCTION HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BE ABSORBED BY HUMAN BEINGS THROUGH SKIN ABSORPTION. 2. AS WE KNOW PLASTIC IS MADE UP HARMFUL CHEMICAL, IF BURNT IT PRODUCES MANY HARMFUL GASES WHICH POLLUTE AIR AND CAUSES DEATHLY DISEASES. 3. IF PLASTIC IS SWALLOWED BY STRAY COWS AND OTHER ANIMALS IT CAN LEAD TO DEATH. 4. AS PLASTIC IS NON-BIODEGRADABLE MATERIAL IT TAKES SEVERAL YEARS TO DECOMPOSE.

MEASURES TO CONTROL THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY PLASTIC WASTE
5
Use a reusable produce bag. A single plastic bag can take 1,000 years to degrade. Purchase or make your own reusable produce bag and be sure to wash them often! Buy laundry detergent and dish soap in boxes instead of plastic bottles. Cardboard can be more easily recycled and made into more products than plastic.
6
Stop using plastic straws, even in restaurants. If a straw is a must, purchase a reusable stainless steel or glass straw Give up gum. Gum is made of a synthetic rubber, aka plastic.
