4 What happened? The first plague of blood All the water of Egypt turned to blood The fish died The people couldn’t drink the water The Nile River smelled awful

5 Frogs

6 What happened? The second plague of frogs Frogs filled all the houses and rooms Frogs covered the fields Croaking (frog sounds) filled the air Pharaoh promised to let Israel go, but he broke his promise

7 Gnats

8 What happened? The third plague of gnats Gnats covered Egypt like the dust Pharaoh’s magicians tried to copy this, but they couldn’t

9 Flies

10 What happened? The fourth plague of flies Swarms of flies came to Egypt Goshen (where Israel lived) was safe from the flies

11 Livestock

12 What happened? The fifth plague of the livestock The livestock died- horses, cows, sheep, camels, etc. Israel’s animals didn’t die

13 Boils

14 What happened? The sixth plague of boils The Egyptians got boils on their skin Israel was safe.

15 Hail

16 What happened? The seventh plague of hail Icy hail rained down on Egypt God told everyone to bring their animals and servants inside Those who didn’t listen had their animals, crops, and servants destroyed

17 Locust

18 What happened? The eighth plague of locusts Locusts came to Egypt The locusts ate the crops Pharaoh agreed to let the men go, but not the women and children

19 Darkness

20 What happened? The ninth plague of darkness The sky was dark Israel’s area was fine Pharaoh agreed to let the people go, but not the animals.

21 The Passover

22 What happened? Passover Death was going to “pass over” Egypt If Israel wanted to be safe, they needed to kill a lamb and paint its blood on the doors. If their door was painted with blood, death would not come to them.

23 DarknessDeath

24 What happened? The tenth plague of death All the firstborn of Egypt died—animals and people Pharaoh’s house was even affected. Pharaoh decided to let Israel go finally
