Call Management (TEMPO) 22 nd July 2010

This presentation covers the following:  The Call Management requirement  Call Management Workflow Introduction

 Call management allows you to distribute incoming calls to a specially designated management group  The management group will consist of a number of panels and a 4-wire direct port driving a loudspeaker  Incoming calls can come from any panel port which has a key mapped to the management group, or by some mechanism allowing a 4-wire port to instigate a talk route to the management group  Incoming calls to the management group using the desired mechanism will be routed to the associated loudspeaker  A member of the management group can then answer the call by either pressing a direct access key to the caller, or using the Reply key Requirement

 The response action will cause the audio from the incoming caller to be transferred from the loudspeaker to the responding panel  Any communication between the incoming caller using the ‘management group’ route, and the responding panel will be directed point to point until there has been no communication between the 2 for a set duration  This duration has been referred to as the management (or TEMPO) timer. Once the tempo timer has run down, the call is returned to its default state, where incoming calls to the management group are directed to the loudspeaker, rather than the previous responding panel Requirement Cont.

 All calls to the management group will behave as management calls All management panels will always work with management calls  Activities that start the counter Any crosspoint made to/from the group  Support for the reply key As standard  Tallys Will use normal incoming call signals. Flashing green to indicate active relationship, and solid green to show relationship with another management panel  Effect on managed calls when a new call is made outgoing/incoming Management panels can only hold 1 relationship at a time. If they press another Talk key when in a relationship, they break their relationship. Otherwise no effect if an incoming call  Panels cannot be members of more than 1 management group In addition, no management group should be able to call another  4-wire call generation to management group Internal talk routing Workflow conditions

 A number of panels and associated loudspeaker in a Management group named ‘NODAL’ connected to a single matrix  A number of local and remote 4-wire devices and panels which have access to the NODAL group System Model

 Triggering a talk route to NODAL directs audio to the loudspeaker  Indication shown on panels  If the talking panel releases its key, the indication will remain until the timeout expires Calling Into NODAL

 A response will start a relationship timer (TEMPO)  Audio is routed to the responding panel  Indication shows management call in progress  Timer is held on while talks are active Calling Into NODAL Cont.

 Further incoming calls are handled in the same manner  Audio is routed to the loudspeaker and signalization is shown Multiple Incoming Calls

 Responding management panels will enter a new relationship with the caller  Audio will be routed away from the speaker and to the involved panel  A separate timer will become active for the new call  This will not interfere with the first call Multiple Incoming Calls Cont.

 A management call has been made  The management panel can either call another port, or answer another incoming call Both will have the same effect Moving Between Relationships

 The original relationship is broken, and the audio returned to the loudspeaker  A new relationship is created between management panel and new destination Moving Between Relationships Cont.

 IF a management panel attempts to talk to a destination already in a relationship AND the other management panel is pressing TALK The original relationship is not broken Audio is sent from the both management panels to the destination port No audio from the destination port arrives at the interrupting management panel Indication does not show a relationship on the new panel Attempting a Break

 IF a management panel attempts to talk to a destination already in a relationship AND the other management panel is NOT pressing TALK The original relationship is broken A new relationship is made between the new management panel and the destination  This allows conversations to be moved between management panels as required Attempting a Break

 If a route is no longer in use by the related panels, the timer counts down  On completing countdown, the relationship is terminated and signalization ends  Any new calls from either previously related port will behave as a new incoming call Natural Timeout

 Relationships are automatically created when a management panel calls out  Any response from the related port will go to the active management panel and not the loudspeaker  Singalization is shown Calling from the Management Group

 Two management panels attempt to talk to the same destination before the destination can respond  A relationship is established for the FIRST press  If the 2 panels press simultaneously, the software will assign the relationship to 1 panel only Two Calls to the Same Port

 Incoming routes from 4-wires must be triggered by an internal TALK mechanism (GPI/Route etc.)  The VOX on the 4-wire will re-trigger the timer  Signaling and behaviour are the same as before Calling From a 4-Wire Port

 Group keys trigger timers for ALL of the members of the group  Audio will be sent to all members of the group  Indication will not show ‘active relationship’ to other management panels Pressing a Group Key

 Should the destination respond with the REPLY key Forms a 1-1 relationship with the management panel Any new incoming audio (even from other group members) goes to the loudspeaker and behave as normal No indication is shown of management on other panels  Responding using the GROUP key will break the relationship and talk to all members of the group Pressing a Group Key
