2. My Community Service Holy Spirit Catholic Church Spaghetti Dinner FYE Car Wash (Benefiting the American Heart Association)

3. Spaghetti Dinner This is my second year volunteering for the Spaghetti Dinner at my church. I helped set up, cook, served food, and cleaned up afterwards.

4. FYE Car Wash I participated in the FYE car wash to benefit the American Heart Association. We made about $500 just from donations. We dedicated this money to Matt and Theresa Davis’ baby boy, Bailey. Theresa and Matt lost their baby to Congenital Heart Disease.

5. A Little about Congenital Heart Disease The term “Congenital heart disease” indicates a structural problem (defect) in a baby’s heart present at birth. – This affects 40,000 babies born annually. – There are 35 types of heart defects identified. – Advances in surgery and medicines have made survival rates increase and help most children in the last 30 years.

7. Reactions To My Service Learning This service learning helped me to meet new people. I grew as a person and learned to help others. I realized how many organizations are out there to help people with all kinds of needs.
