5. Historical Development In 1937, Patrick McDonald opened "The Airdrome" restaurant on Huntington Drive near the Monrovia Airport California. Hamburgers were 10 cents & drink orange juice for 5 cents. In 1940, his two sons, Maurice and Richard ‘Mac’ and ‘Dick’, have moved the building to San Bernardo, California.
