3 Naming the Valley 2 Named after the biblical city of Yizre’el, which served as a home in the winter for the monarchy. Flourished under King Omri. Destroyed by Tiglath-Pulesar III in 732 BC.

4 Where is this Place? The Jezreel Valley is Israel’s largest valley and is located between Samaria in the South and Galilee in the north. Guarded by Megiddo (Armageddon) on the southwest and Mt Tabor in the northeast. Nazareth overlooks the valley from the north.

5 Map of Galilee There is some dispute about the name of the valley. The question is whether the Jezreel Valley refers to the entire valley or just a part of it.

6 About the Valley… 15 miles north to south and 30 miles west to east. Kishor River to the west, Harod River to the east. Agricultural heartland of the country.
