3. OVERVIEW OF THE BOOK It’s the start of fifth grade for seven kids at Snow Hill School. There’s...  Jessica, the new girl, smart and perceptive, who’s having a hard time fitting in;  Alexia, a bully, your friend one second, your enemy the next;  Peter, class prankster and troublemaker;  Luke, the brain;  Danielle, who never stands up for herself;  Anna, whose home situation makes her an outcast; and  Jeffrey, who hates school. Only Mr. Terupt, their new and energetic teacher, seems to know how to deal with them all. He makes the classroom a fun place, even if he doesn’t let them get away with much... until the snowy winter day when an accident changes everything—and everyone.

4. READING THE BOOK Students can begin Feb 27 th Students can read on their own, with a parent, or in some cases, the parent could read aloud to the student, while the student follows along Skype session with the author is March 23, so the book should be finished by then

5. DIGITAL COPIES OF THE BOOK Amazon-Kindle Audible (free trial) I-Reader on iPad or iPhone Digital and hard copies can be borrowed from the public library, if available.

7. BLOG EXPECTATIONS Students will post their responses weekly to the questions posted by the administrators and their grade level classmates. Students will be expected to answer at least one question, and post at least one question weekly As with anything... The more you put into something, the more you get out of it. So, the more you respond and post, the more involved you will be in the book.

8. AUTHOR SKYPE SESSION March 23 rd at 12:30 pm in the Library at Cedar Lane Parents are welcome to join us, and we would love to have you! Students will be given the chance to write questions ahead of time and some will be chosen to personally ask the author We will video the session to share later with parents that are not able to make the Skype session You may “opt out” your child if you do not wish him or her to be video taped
