2. QC – Create Short Answer Question In AKC, click Question Creation Wizard>>Short Answer Question>>Level 1. A Short Answer Question will have answers ranging from words to numbers. Let us see how to create a short answer question.

3. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 1 There are five steps in the SA question creation wizard. In Step1, you need to provide the Question Meta Information, such as Language, Subject, Difficulty and Marks which are mandatory fields. Note: Question Type will be auto populated based on your question type selection.

4. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 1 Note: If in a question paper, a correct answer carries 1 mark and negative mark is 0.25. This means that If the first question is answered correct and the second question is answered wrong, then the candidate will secure 0.75 marks for these two questions. Other meta information includes negative marking. In case of negative marking, you need to select the Yes option for Negative Marking Allowed? and provide the marks to be deducted for the incorrect answer in the Negative Marks field.

5. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 1 Tags can be added to the question and can be used as reference for future searches. Option Shuffling can be enabled to change the order of answer options for the question in every paper. However, it is optional and not mandatory.

6. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 2 After entering the necessary details, click Step2 to enter the question text.

7. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 2 In this step, you need to specify the actual question content in the Question Text section.

8. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 2 Special symbols, such as *, $ and ^ can be entered from the Special Symbols option and tagged to the question. Images can also be uploaded and tagged to the question. Effects, such as boldface, italics, can be given to the text, using the Html Tags.

9. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 2 The answer to the question should be provided in the How to Solve? section. This will not be visible to the student, but only to the reviewer using the On Screen Marking (OSM) evaluation tool.

11. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 3 Select if the answer options are case sensitive or no, numeric or alpha numeric. In this step, you need to specify the type of answer and the actual answer.

12. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 3 The first answer type is SET which allows multiple correct options that can be entered. Enter the options in the For SET: field and click Add a Value. For example, Pranab Mukherjee is the answer to the question, Who is the President of India? But, it may be answered in different forms such as P Mukherjee or Pranab Mukherjee. Both answers can be correct if they are specified in the possible answers. Need to add one more screenshot or two..to elaborate this section

13. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 3 The second answer type is RANGE which allows only numeric answers to be entered. The range of these numbers can be specified in the For Range: section. For example: The correct answer could be anything between 3.14 or 3.16. So if the candidate has entered 3.15, it is correct.

14. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 3 For example, the name of the President can be entered as Pranab Mukherjee only and cannot be P. Mukherjee or any other option. The third answer type is Equals which allows only one correct answer that can be entered.

15. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 4 After entering the relevant details in the Question Options, click Step4 to enter the Key Value for this question.

16. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 4 In this step, you need to select terms from the respective Select Key and Select Value drop-down lists and after doing so, click Add Value. This is known as a Key Value that is now tagged to the question. This will help to restrict your search for this question and related questions by entering this key value.

17. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 5 The Key Value is selected. You can use this key value to search for this question anytime without much effort. After selecting the Question Key Value Details, click Step5 to complete the question creation process.

18. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 5 In this step, you can verify the and check if all the question details are correct. To see the html format of this question, click HTML Preview.

19. The HTML preview of the question is displayed. Close this window to return to Step 5. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 5

20. After verifying all details of this question, click Add Question to generate an ID for this question and to submit this question to the repository.

21. QC – Create Short Answer Question - Step 5 The Short Answer question has been successfully created and added to the respository with question Id 26642. Click OK.
