8 Groups of Mammals Egg laying mammals = montremes Duck-billed platypus & spiny anteaters

9 Marsupials : bear live young that complete development in pouch (marsupium) Kangaroos, koalas, & wombats

10 Placentals: named for placenta (structure formed when the embryos tissues join the tissues within the mothers body. Nutrients, gases, and waste are exchanged through the placenta Bats, bears, cows, humans and other primates, etc…..
