Lacey, and was officially signed into law in 1900 by President McKinley. -It states that it’s unlawful to transport, export, or even sell any fish or plant life of any kind taken from one country to the U.S. -This Act protects the rights of wildlife and ensures that nonnative species are taken from their homeland and brought to other nations. -This document would help restoring game and other birds in the U.S. and established that it’s illegal to submit false identification of wildlife. The Environmental Issues Affected -It is now illegal to hunt without a legal license. -Biodiversity of ecosystems worldwide are now being positively affected by this law. -It’s greatly reduced the illegal harvesting of fish in America, allowing the endangered species to grow and prosper. -Invasive species now are unable to harm the native species of the U.S.; the illegal importation of animals from foreign countries has been reduced.
