2 Steps for Multiplying Decimals
Line up the numbers as if they were whole numbers. (You DON’T have to line up the decimal point!) Multiply as if the numbers were whole numbers. Count the total number of decimal places in the factors. The product MUST have the same number of decimal places as the factors.
