He Was Greedy Lot’s choice showed a degree of greed He didn’t think about… How it would affect his family The kind of environment it would place them in Whether they could serve God acceptably there Whether he could properly educate children there What other people would think of him there Many Christians today make the same mistakes

4. He Lived in Sodom Wicked Sodom took its toll on Lot Was willing to give two virgin daughters to fornication Sons-in-law and daughters had become a part of Sodom The wickedness of Sodom followed Lot Don’t over estimate your righteousness!

5. He Failed in Raising His Children All of his family but his wife and two daughters stayed in Sodom Two daughters committed incest with Lot Prov.22:6– “train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

He Had an Unbelieving Wife NOT an example of faith in Heb.11 Jesus said, “Remember Lot’s wife” Her heart had always been there Lot MAY have moved there for her These two things we know about her: She loved Sodom more than Lot did She loved Sodom more than she loved God Marry a believer who will help you in your service to the Lord
