Table of Contents 1. Title 2. Table of contents 3. What do scientists think the surface of Saturn is like? What is the atmosphere like on Saturn? 4. What is the temperature range on Saturn? What is Saturn’s diameter? 5. Does Saturn have any moons? How many? What are they like? How far is Saturn from the Sun? 6. How far is Saturn from Earth? How Many Earth hours/days does it take Saturn to rotate once? 7. How long does it take Saturn to revolve once? How did Saturn get its name? 8. Are there any more interesting or important facts? 9. Bibliography/Webliography

Surface and atmosphere on Saturn The surface on Saturn is 93% molecular hydrogen and the rest helium with trace amounts of ammonia, acetylene, ethane, phosphine and methane. The atmosphere on Saturn is cloudy, liquid hydrogen and helium.

Temperature range and diameter on Saturn Saturn’s diameter is 120,536 km. across. Saturn’s average surface temperature is -300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Moons and distance from Sun Saturn has 62 moons in all. 53 moons that are named and 9 that aren’t named. Titan is the biggest of Saturn’s moons. Saturn’s distance from the Sun is 890,700,000 miles.

Saturn’s day and how far Saturn is from the Earth Saturn (at its closest distance) is 746,000,000 miles from Earth. At its farthest distance Saturn is approximately 1,000,000,000 miles from Earth. Saturn’s day is approximately 10 hours 47 minutes.

Saturn’s year and how Saturn got its name Saturn’s year is 29.4 Earth years. Saturn got its name from the Roman god of agriculture, Saturn.

Interesting and Important Facts Saturn has really cool rings that unlike Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune’s rings are very bright. Saturn is really famous for its rings. Saturn’s rings are colored really brightly. 14 of Saturn’s rings have names (like: D, C, Columbo Gap, Maxwell Gap, Bond Gap, Dawes Gap, B, Cassini Division, Huygens Gap, Herschel Gap, Russell Gap, Jeffereys Gap, Kuiper Gap, Leplace Gap, Bessel Gap, Barnyard Gap, A, Encke Gap, Keeler Gap, Roche Division and F). You can see Saturn’s rings from Earth if you use a telescope!
