THE WORSHIP OF REVIVAL

Revival is the extraordinary movement of the Spirit of God in the lives of God’s ordinary people producing extraordinary results.

One of the things that stands out about true revivals is that when true revival comes worship changes dramatically and becomes the highlight of one’s week.

DAILY!

1904 – Joseph Jenkins, “I close the services at 12 or 1, but they continue to break out, often lasting until dawn.”

1814 – Second Great Awakening Cornwall, England; a service began on Sunday morning and continued until Friday morning, and it was reported that over 2,000 professed faith in Christ.

1859 – in Ulster region a prayer meeting usually attended by 50 was now attended by over 1,000 and held multiple nights a week, often lasting until 2:00 a.m.

Asbury revival at Asbury College in Wilmore, KY, in early 1970s – started on Monday morning, lasted 7 days.

When revival comes, what does worship look like?

1) Revived worship has a strong presence of the Lord.

2) Revived worship brings an awe of God.

3) Revived worship gives all the glory to God.

verse 11-They were talking about the wonderful works of God that He had done in their life!

4) Revived worship is joyous praise.

In verse 13 some outside the group of followers of Jesus accused them of being drunk.

Pray with me: Lord, forgive me of any sin in my life so I can fellowship freely with You.

Revive me.

Help me to think like Jesus thought so I can live like He lived.

Give me the desire to think on things that are pure and noble and reject thinking on things that are not.

Renew my mind so I can be transformed into the image of Jesus and not conformed to the image of this world.

Work IN me and THROUGH me to change my world!

Help me to live as a servant of the king and may all I do be for the glory of the name of King Jesus.
