2 Quick Review of Josiah Josiah was 8 years old when he became king
He began his reforms in the 12th year of his reign, beginning to purge the land of idols He repaired the temple in the 18th year of his reign During this time, they found a book of the law and read it to Josiah Josiah tore his clothes and inquired of the prophets The calamity was going to happen after Josiah

3 Josiah Renews the Covenant
Josiah called all the people, small and great, the elders, the priests and the Levites to Jerusalem There he read the law and made the people agree to the covenant Then Josiah began to remove all the abominations from the land, even Israel 2 Kings 23:4-20

4 The Passover Is Observed
In the same year that the temple was rebuilt, the Passover was observed This is a great observance of the passover; there wasn’t one like it since Samuel The ark is returned to the temple Under Josiah’s leadership, the passover was observed strictly according to the law Josiah and the gave freely of their possessions

5 Josiah Dies Several years after the Passover, Josiah went to fight against Pharaoh Necho Necho did not want to fight with Josiah, but Josiah would not listen to him Necho claimed to be sent by God (2 Chron. 35:21-22) Josiah was shot and mortally wounded in Megiddo He was buried in his tomb in Jerusalem Notice 2 Kings 23:25-27

6 Jehoahaz Is Made King After Josiah died, the people made Jehoahaz, his son, king He did evil and only reigned 3 months Necho removed him and imprisoned him in Hamoth and put his brother, Eliakim on the throne Necho changed Eliakim to Jehoiakim and took Jehoahaz to Egypt where he died (Jer. 22:10-12)
