Naples Prevent Cohort 306 newborns from at risk families, with a confirmed case of CD among parents or sibs, were eligible for the study (01/01/2007 to 31/12/2011 ): 256 Prevent + 50 Neocel 207 newborns entered the study on the basis of DQ2/DQ8 positivity: 171 Prevent + 36 Neocel 99 newborns were DQ2 and DQ8 negative and were followed up at 3-5 years as controls: 78 Prevent + 21 Neocel

3. 100 mg GLUTEN WORSE THAN PLACEBO 13 new cases were registered at 36 months of follow up (CI 6%), 8% by 48 months and does not increase by 60 months (5 years).

8. EVENTS Celiac Cases show an excess of adverse events till 24 months: specifically they suffered from about double Upper Respiratory and Lower Respiratory Infections, more Fever lasting > 3 days, more Vomiting. Up to 12 months they also showed more frequently Constipation. There was no difference in the frequency of acute gastroenteritis or ‘colicky’ abdominal pain. It is interesting to observe that such differences were not any more present after the 24 months, where most of the cases were already diagnosed and put on a gluten free diet.

9. Conclusions CI at 4 years is about 12 % 100 MG GLUTEN AT 4 MONTHS DO NOT PREVENT, BUT MY BE WORSE IN GIRLS HLA risk is a major risk for the prediction of villous atrophy, as father as proband. Relevant events in the first 2 years of life CD correlated seem URTI and LRTI, more than gastroenteritis.
