3 Expectations for the Easter Camp Your are participating in this Easter Camp to learn the language and culture of China through classes, tours, and by being immersed in the day to day life and food of China You will keep a portfolio of the visit recording your thoughts and experiences before, during and after the visit As you are a long way from home we really do need your medical history and medication requirements in case you take ill You are an ambassador of yourself, your family, your school and Ireland. You will respect the differences you experience. Above all you will respect your leaders and supervisors and follow their instructions

4 Ensuring a Safe and Enjoyable Visit for All 1 School Rules Apply 2 Bedrooms are for sleeping not socialising 3 SUBSTANCE ABUSE-ZERO TOLERANCE 4 Medical Information is vital & compulsory 5 Students will not challenge teacher/supervisor instructions or decisions 6 Disciplinary decisions can be reviewed by the supervising teachers accompanying the students and consultation will take place with the student’s School Principal in Ireland, if contactable

5 Ensuring a Safe and Enjoyable Visit for All 7 If a decision is taken to return a student to Ireland before the Easter Camp officially ends then the parents/guardians will be expected to fund the cost of the flights for the returning student and accompanying teacher 8 Good general behaviour is expected at all times, do not inconvenience or annoy others 9 Mobile Phones and Social Media not as freely available as at home 10 University and Other Property must be respected and cared for

6 Ensuring a Safe and Enjoyable Trip for All Teachers and Team Leaders are in “ Loco Parentis” This is the Latin for "in the place of a parent“ and refers to the legal responsibility of a person or organization taking on some of the functions and responsibilities of a parent Students are expected to respect this authority. We will be your parents while you are on the trip

7 Ensuring a Safe and Enjoyable Trip for All After Class each evening students will participate in sports and recreation activities organised by their leaders These activities are compulsory Shopping trips are built into the schedule Students will also be involved in preparing a number of Irish music/song and dance presentations for the social evening with Chinese students Students with a musical instrument that will travel easily in their luggage should bring it to China
