2. 2 Internet  The largest computer network in the world. Also called “mother of all networks.”  Actually a network of networks – a collection of more than 200,000 individual computer networks.  These interconnected networks can communicate because they all use the same, standards and protocols.  They are connected via high-speed long-distance backbone networks.
