2 Asus’s EEE PC is the netbook poster child, which introduced lower-cost, less powerful and smaller PCs to the market place.

3 Netbooks, sometimes called “mini-notebooks” are lightweight, small, and low-priced computers. Some writers ridicule them by calling them “one of the hottest tech toys of the year” Netbooks are 7 to 10 inches. Netbooks are not toys. They are honest-to-goodness real laptops…just a little smaller…and cheaper.

4 Business In business, they would be extremely useful for field employees who do not need to work with huge amounts of data but still need access to spreadsheets or word processing applications, emails and the Net. Netbooks usually come with standard pre installed Windows XP or Linux operation systems which are already pretty familiar to us so a distinct advantage there. Even when Windows 7 is released it will run on netbooks whereas vista doesn’t. Programs

5 Students/Kids We can’t forget kids and students either; they would definitely love a Netbook. Perfect for starting them off in computing, great for taking notes and keeping in touch with friends, and a neat introduction to the more expensive laptops. Students can use netbooks to replace textbooks. Netbooks are great if you’re any sort of traveler on the move as they are perfect for simple tasks like basic spreadsheets, word processing, emails and quick access to the Net. They weigh only a few pounds so very light and easy to carry around. Travelers
