4. OC Gear Day - Thursday Wear OC Gear and show school spirit for Catholic Schools Week!

5. Congratulations, Swim Team! The swim team defeated Chartiers Valley - Score was OC 104 to 73

7. The Chinese club is going to have a New Year Celebration on this Thursday, Feb. 4th after school in the OC cafeteria. You will get to learn about Chinese New Year and how to make Chinese dumplings. You will also get to enjoy the dumplings you make. All students and teachers are welcome to join us. Signup sheet is posted on the door of Room G09, please signup by 7th period on Wednesday to help us for preparing the dumpling ingredients.

8. This weekend the crew team competed in the Pittsburgh Indoor Sprints. Freshman Courtney Moody and Emily Hunt place 2 nd in their events and Sophomore Annie Trainer placed 3 rd in her event. The team as a whole made a very strong showing with many girls making personal records.

9. Congratulations to the indoor track team that competed in their first meet at Edinboro on Saturday. Olivia Rowe took Third in the hurdles and the triple jump. Lauren Finikiotis took 6th in both the mile and the 3000 meters, breaking the school record in both events. The 3200 relay team of Aldrich, Kavanaugh, Schupansky, and Ellery took 7th. Also competing in the various events were Sophie Muller, Taylor Stringer, Gabby Maerkle, Anne Kilpatrick, and Mia Smogor.

11. The Writing Center is in room 209 every day at second period.

12. Attention Juniors and Seniors: On April 15th, Central and Oakland Catholic will be hosting their annual Dancing with the Vikings charity event. If you are interested in dancing please email Mary Beth Miller at mmiller@oaklandcatholic.org. Within the email include the style of dance you wish to perform, i.e. ballet or hip hop, etc. and any athlete you may want to dance with. If you do not already have a partner one will be provided for you. Please contact her by January 21st.
